A LIFELONG OKLAHOMAN
My wife, Katie, and I are lifelong Oklahomans who have lived in northwest Oklahoma City for nearly our entire lives. OKC is our home, and we enjoy living and raising our family here. We both attended school within the Putnam City School District where I graduated from Putnam City West and then earned a graphic design degree from Oklahoma State University.
I have worked in a variety of roles in the Art/Creative Department at Hobby Lobby since graduating from college, and since 2013, I have served on the Oklahoma City Council. The life experiences I have gained leading a family, working in the private sector, and serving on the Council have equipped me to represent you over the next four years.
My conservative political viewpoint has served the Oklahoma City taxpayers well since I have been on the Council. I have articulated what city government should and should not do. We must continue to invest in our infrastructure and public safety (specifically hiring more police officers) in the years to come to catch up with the tremendous growth that we have experienced over the past few decades.
What I have learned and the relationships that I have formed during my first term will enable me to advocate effectively for Ward 1 and all of Oklahoma City during important decisions such as the next bond issue (which is our main funding mechanism for streets, parks, and other infrastructure needs) and what to do next when the MAPS 3 tax expires in December of 2017.
My Top Priorities
- Improving Streets
- Public Safety
- Conservative Financial Management
- Strengthening Neighborhoods
- Fighting and preventing blight
